The internal Roads in the campus are adorned with flower plants in attractive hues in both sides.

- Two Separate Hostels for boys and girls - two storied each with two playgrounds, dormitories, enough furniture, two Shrines for morning & evening prayers in the hostel campuses.
- In Hostels water resources are made more than sufficient. Healthy & Hygienic sanitation standard is maintained every time.
Provision for separate dining place for both Boys & Girls.
Sources of Drinking Water: Tap water with Aqua Guard filtration.
Braille Library:
Hosts a wonderful 5000 sq ft Braille Library 11,168 books including Text & Reference books for students with Encyclopaedia in Braille.

Visual acuity :
(i) No Light perception in the better eye.
(ii) Loss of Visual Acuity more than 40%.

(i) Disability Certificate & UDID Card issued by the Medical Board under the State Govt. & Govt. of India respectively.

(v) Category Certificate in case of Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe & Other Backward Class.

Achievements
Games & Sports:
Our students participate regularly in State, National Level- Track & Field Events, Cricket, Chess, Swimming Competitions, Meets, Tournaments held at Delhi, Dehradun, Bombay & Kolkata. Most of the times they win group & overall Champion Trophy, Shield & Cup - dashing others.
International:
Consecutively in two years 1998 & 1999 our students only participated in the World Championship & the Demonstration Meet for the Blind in Madrid & Sevilla, Spain respectively representing India. In 2003, 8 Indian contingents participated in the 2nd World Championship for the Blind held in Quebec, Canada from 1st to 12th August, 2003.
Two Boys & Two Girls of this school were among those 8.
Academic Achievements:
Since 1989 the students have been appearing for the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) and have successfully passed out in the 1st Division, 95% of them scored Star Marks. The first batch of H.S. appeared in 2009 and Sri Sridam Dhara ranked top position among the sightless students in our state.
Every year our students secure good percentage of marks in MP(SE) & HS Examination. Our students have also secured the top positions in the merit list of the Visually Impaired students in our State in both MP(SE) & HS Examination regularly

Class Hour : It is a Morning School round the year.
Morning : 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - all classes.
Afternoon : 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - V to XII.
*Special classes are arranged conveniently during holidays and as per accommodation needed in the regular activities.

New comers are to bring very simple bed-rolls including mosquito-net, winter night-covers, dining utensils from home. The Mission Asram also arranges dress and other things of daily uses from time to time every year.

(ii) Puja - 28 days as per the calendar schedule.

(i) Summative Evalution : Pre-primary to Class X (Thrice in a session)
(ii) Test Examination : Class X & XII
(iii) Semester Examination : I & II for Class XI; III & IV for Class XII.
Results & Achievements :

Birthdays of Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sri Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Rabindranath Tagore, Sri Sri Ma Saradamoni, Louis Braille; National Days - Republic, Independence; Pujas - Biswakarma, Saraswati; and other occasions like Teachers' Day, Paschimbanga Divas, Yoga Day,Farewell of the outgoing students, Prize Distribution Ceremony, Eye-Health Education Programme are held regularly with due eclat and solemnity.
Transcription :
To meet the dearth of Braille Books we have our own Computerised Transcription Section for production of Braille Books as per the need of our Institution.
Recreation & Outing :
The Mission Asram has its own vehicle to arrange outing for the students and staff readily. Every year an educational tour programme is organised with the financial assistance from the Deptt. of M.E.E, Govt. of West Bengal.
Resource Centre :
We extend all sorts of help and assistance for running Community Based Rehabilitation and Integrated Education Programme for the Blind Sponsored by the Sightsavers International, Mumbai undertaken by the Mission Asram.
Other Facilities :
Good Play Grounds, Swimming Tank, Well-Furnished Braille Library, Music Room, Craft Room, Concept Formation Room, Geography Room, Barrier Free Environment exclusively for the Visually Impaired, Good water sources for drinking & other uses, Prayer Assembly Hall, Programme Hall & Open Stage, Auditorium, Seminar Hall, Hygienic Sanitary Arrangements, Healthy Open Air, Greenery all around.
Discipline & Withdrawals :
Each and every student is compelled to follow the Bell-code and must abide by rules and regulations of the Residential School as in force from time to time to maintain a high standard of discipline. For any breach of discipline or orders, the students are liable to removal or dismissal or such other measure as the concerned authority may decide or deem fit.
The guardians are to comply with if the School Authority requests a guardian to withdraw his/her ward for any reason at any time of the year which may or may not be disclosed.
Methodology: Simulated Park
The Main Objects of planning and designing the Simulation Park is to provide the training to the Visually Impaired and Low Vision people, to encounter a variety of barriers faced in their day to day life. People with disabilities have as much right to move about freely in safe physical environment without any obstacles as the normal. Everyone should be benefitted from a built environment that meets safety standards and is convenient and usable for PWDs.The concepts of Non-handicapping Environment, Barrier-free Environment and Universal Design are the priority areas of the New Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons. Architects, Engineers, Urban Planners, Public Transport Planners, Government Officials, Special Educators, Mobility Instructors, Co- ordinators, Occupational Therapists, CBR workers, Non-government Representatives working on disability related issues and Representatives of Self-help Organisations of NGOs are urged to promote a non handicapping environment, universal design and barrier free society. The information that is to be followed, provides guidelines and recommendations on key areas related to the built environment for people who are blind and partially sighted. These areas are key to create a built environment that is barrier-free and inclusive for persons who are blind and partially sighted. All rights are reserved by Vivekannanda Mission Asram.
Conclusion :
Our Ex-students are working in Schools both normal & special, in the Railway Sector, other Government and non-government Organization. Some are self-employed in different rural trades. One of our ex-girl students is serving at the Haldia Municipality Office and some other are attending College, University courses and are waiting to be employed and we see that our objective for the cause of rehabilitation of the sightless is becoming true and fruitful.
May the untiring efforts of the staff, the monks, the brahmacharins, the well-wishers, the doctors and paramedics and all others of this big complex live long through the well rehabilitated, established sightlesses of the Institute.
